I've been busy guys... don't hate me.

I just took a look at my blog and realized that I haven't done anything since Independence Day. At least it was a good entry :) I think.

So my bad.  I have honestly been really busy actually doing research while I am here... in a research program... where my only job is to do research. My skipping so much time in my blog is my testimonial to how busy I have been doing what I actually am suppose to do!! Yay hard working me. And I have to be honest right now, the only reason that I thought to blog today is because I have writer's block and needed to find some way to get back into the writing mood.

Anyway, what have we missed since I have been away. First thing that comes to mind is Doctor Who... For those of you who do not understand DW is my obsession. If you do not like you don't need to tell me and you don't need to give me those ugly looks when I talk about it, just walk away guys, walk away. Really I just needed to mention the Doctor before I moved on, its not like I have been obsessing about him everyday and talking to my roommates about it everyday and its not like he is consuming my every free moment.... moving on.

No really though, I have had a little bit of time to myself to enjoy California, if I didn't I would probably go crazy. But I am going to have to go through my pictures to try to remember what those things were. Oh man, pictures I have taken since 4th of July, this may be a long entry.

Just got done looking at all my pictures I've taken since then. Don't worry I have been a bum in every aspect of my life not just my blog, there aren't as may pictures as I thought. Here is the rundown...

Look a bowtie!! What ever could that be a reference to??

I figured it was about time to show everyone my room. This is when it is actually clean. Don't worry, it doesn't always look like that.

I had to go to Carpenteria one day for a couple of interviews. After a friend and I went checked out the beach!

It was much cleaner than the beaches in Santa Barbara, which meant more people.

Avert your eyes! Its me in a dress. Sorry you had to see that.

I'm in a dress in this picture for some reason I don't care quite as much. Why would that be...

Went to Anaheim one weekend. Apparently that is the home of the Angels. Who knew?

That's right I took a walk down Magic way.

Didn't have enough money to eat at the Rainforest Cafe but they couldn't stop me from taking a picture in front of it!

Build a Bear. I didn't build one myself but I did help.

Look! A bar right outside of Disneyland. I can't remember if I went to it tho...

Oh yea! I did :)

Let the Magic begin.

I had to chase this guy down to get a picture with him. Practically tackled the guy.

ITS THE CASTLE!

I dunno, I thought it was cute.

And that is when my camera decided to die inside of Disneyland. No worries, though. I stole a friend's camera and kept taking pictures. I had to enjoy myself while I could. I was suppose to be at Disney for 2 days but it turned into only 1 when I spent the previous day in the emergency room. Nothing was wrong with me, but a friend of mine had a pretty nasty spider bite that was making her pretty sick, so I stayed with her until they let her leave. It was cool though, we ordered a pizza that night and watched True Blood at the hotel while we had the room to ourselves. We still made the best of the day.

Now on to round 2 of pictures.

Oh look, another beach.

And shocking, another boat.

The fact we were on Santa Monica Blvd was pretty cool though. And when in Santa Monica, what do you have to do?

That's right! Find the nearest British Pub! In my defense, they were playing the Olympics on their big screens all day. I had to go.

This was just a bonus.

Maybe a little more than a bonus...

But hey, this girl was there too!

And we finally left the pub because they made us go to Universal Studios.

We do look pretty good walking down that red carpet though.

My childhood right there.

Alright I did get a little excited when I ended up here.

And seeing Bumblebee was friggen righteous.

Yelena also convinced me to get a caricature of myself done. I just said Vampire. The guy was just smart enough to incorporate the death grip on the man. He only saw me for a few minutes yet he knew me so well.

I was just excited to see a Bubba Gump shrimp.

Oh, another drink you ask?

Why the hell not?

I believe this picture came out wonderfully.

And one more drink, this time for dessert.

And it was delicious.

Ok, maybe this was the last one.

Alright. Break time is over. Time to get back to writing that paper. I will try to better about my blog from now on. And now here are some songs that have been stuck in my head for the last couple of days...

Mamma Mia-SOS

Mamma Mia-Lay All Your Love On Me

I don't know why I have Mamma Mia stuck in my head but I'm not complaining.

Proud To Be An American.

Happy Independence day, y'all!

So I was really worried that I was going to have a bad day. All morning I was just wandering around all sad, trying really hard to get some work done and keep my mind occupied because I was determined that this was the worst day ever. I am use to waking up [kinda] early for the 4th of July celebrations and basically spending the entire day with my family. Well since I'm a few states away this year obviously I wouldn't be taking part in my traditional activities. Lucky for me I have made some friends here, and while it took a couple of hours in deciding what was going to go down we finally made our way to a park here in Goleta (the town that we actually live in is Goleta, Santa Barbara is just a little ride away).

We went to a park with all kinds of Independence Day fun. It was really a family event so there were a lot of kids games, not that that was going to stop us from participating!! There was also face painting, that we also took part in, and of course fireworks! It is not easy being so far away from my family and friends, both old and new, especially since I am gone for some pretty important dates (my birthday, Independence Day, and numerous friends' birthdays) but today made it just a little easier.

Ok, so these first few are of my birthday.
A couple of us went down to the beach so that I didn't feel like I completely wasted a birthday.

Now we get to the good stuff.
 Independence Day 2012.

Haha, my dinner. Devan and I had to keep going back to the food stand because some fairly attractive firemen were working there.

The gang. Lorie, Devan, Seelai, Evelyn, Tanairi, and Me.

Stretching before tossing the water balloon.

Didn't win but got second place!

Lorie and her CORN ON THE COB!!!

Tanairi's turn for face painting.

I had to represent Doctor who!

Bow ties are cool!

Us lovely ladies and our face paint.

Watermelon eating contest! Didn't win but loads of fun!

This cool kid let me get a pic of his skull paint. Coolest one I saw today.

Lorie went "ice skating" and we got these nice stickers for it.

Yea, we are still children at heart :)

DOCTOR WHO!?

Cuddled up in my warm blanket.

They attacked me and pushed me down :(  haha

A little girl game me a glow bracelet! She was so sweet! Tardis blue of course.

My camera doesn't do the best job with fireworks...

But I tried.

It was a pretty great day. I am not looking forward to washing this paint off though! Happy Independence Day everybody, or day after, I am posting this a little late... Oh well, y'all get it!
